Now that the dust has settled and I have a moment to collect my thoughts on the past week, I am looking forward to learning the Coldwell Banker Culture and Systems.  The Agents of the Denver Office will still be the same hard working agents continuing to lead the market with innovative ideas and time tested negotiating skills.  No fear, we are still here!  Thank you Bob Hecht for all of your years of dedication!

Coldwell Banker United, Realtors is the number one Coldwell Banker franchise in sales transactions in America.  The company expanded its operations significantly in 2007 and 2008 and currently services six states—which includes North and South Carolina.

Overall merger/acquisition activity within the entire Coldwell Banker system was 71% higher than in 2007 according to a recent RIS Media report.  Coldwell Banker United, Realtors’ was one of the few Coldwell Banker franchises that lead the way in merger/acquisition activity in 2008.  Most recent activities included:  Realty World in Lake Norman and in South Carolina, Century 21 Bob Capes and Coldwell Banker Coastal in Charleston.

Jim Gillespie, president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, says that it “continually stresses to Coldwell Banker affiliated companies that merger/acquisitions in this market represent a great opportunity to increase market presence.”

The Carolinas Region has 25 offices in Charlotte, Lake Norman, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Lancaster, Union County, Cabarrus County, Statesville, Columbia, Aiken, Lexington, Chapin, Irmo, Camden, Sumter and Charleston.

Jeffrey B. Wheeler, current president and COO for Coldwell Banker United, Realtors, and past COO of Coldwell Banker, LLC, is based in Columbia, S.C.  Wheeler has close ties to day-to-day operations in North and South Carolina, as well as the Gulf States.

“Coldwell Banker United, Realtors is nationally recognized, regionally operated, but always locally lead,” said Wheeler.  “Our managers and local leadership take innovative approaches to real estate — approaches that are often duplicated or shared with other franchises throughout the Coldwell Banker system.”

Coldwell Banker United, Realtors, which topped the international list in the Coldwell Banker® system for transactions and GCI with $124,889,799.84 AGC and 22,133 Total Units respectively, renewed its franchise affiliation with Coldwell Banker for another 10 years.

Coldwell Banker United, Realtors President and CEO, Richard Smith, signed the agreement on Sunday, March 1, 2009 and the renewal announcement was made by Coldwell Banker President and CEO Jim Gillespie at the Coldwell Banker International Business Conference.

Coldwell Banker United, Realtors was founded by Richard A. Smith in College Station, Texas in 1970.  The company has grown to 77 residential offices and three commercial offices in six states, with over 2,400 sales associates and more than 450 employees. According to REAL Trends and RISMedia, two industry trade publications, the company in 2007, was ranked #5 among all U.S. real estate companies in transaction sides.
